The copper statue was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and its metal framework was built by Gustave Eiffel. The statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886. Times Square, is the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway Theater District, with one of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections, and a major center of the world's entertainment industry. Times Square was once named Longacre Square. It took on its current name in 1904, when The New York Times moved its headquarters to the area.The Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, It was designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon and completed in 1931. It was constructed during a race to create the worlds tallest building, as New York’s economy boomed like never before.
